Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment that aims to relieve pressure on the spinal discs and nerves. It can be used to treat conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, and degenerative disc disease.

About Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression Therapy at Brown Chiropractic can help alleviate a variety of back and spine injuries and conditions

This non-surgical, non-invasive treatment option aims to relieve pain and discomfort caused by various spinal conditions. It involves gently stretching the spine to create negative pressure, which helps alleviate pressure on the spinal discs and nerves. We perform this therapy with a specialized table that allows controlled traction or decompression of the spine.

How Spinal Decompression Works

During a spinal decompression session, the patient lies on the table while a harness is attached to their body. The table then moves in specific patterns to stretch and relax the spine, creating a vacuum effect within the discs. This negative pressure helps promote the retraction of herniated or bulging discs, reducing pressure on nerves and facilitating the flow of oxygen, water, and nutrients into the affected area. By decompressing the spine, this therapy aims to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain.

Spinal decompression can be beneficial for various conditions, including:

  • Herniated or Bulging Discs
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Sciatica
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Facet Joint Syndrome
  • Failed Back Surgery Syndrome
  • Chronic Neck or Back Pain

It is important to note that while this can be an effective treatment for many individuals, it may not be suitable for everyone. Dr. Brown will determine if it is a suitable therapy for each patient on an individual basis.
